Experimenting in Photoshop

Experimenting with Photoshop

I uploaded these two images in Photoshop

I quick-selected the image of the boy and pasted him onto the images of the mother and daughter. After I did this, I changed the contrast of the original mother and daughter image, slightly and the brightness and saturation. I changed the image of the boy to black and white and altered the brightness and boldness. Then, I changed the opacity to 45% so that he looked ghostly. Here is the image that I manipulated.

Although the boy is visible and obvious enough, I think it would be better if he were slightly bigger. I also want to add another face in between the tree. I will see if I can accomplish these aims.

I cut the face from this man and pasted it on the image.

I am much happier with the changes I have made to the boy but I'm not too sure if I like the face in between the tree.

I opened this image up in Photoshop.

I chose this location because paranormal movies inspired me. In the movies and also in images, the supernatural creature(s) is often on the top of a staircase about to jump out and attack the victim(s), so I chose to shoot on the stairs in my college. I love the way the light is coming from behind 'the creature' so it is easier to manipulate it.

The sky outside was originally blue and white so it looked like nice weather but I aimed to make this image look spooky and creepy as if you're wanting to know 'what's about to happen?'. So I changed the brightness until the sky was white because that gives the sense of nothingness. I darkened the silhouette of the creature so it looks more mythical and daunting and put a grain on the image so it gives it an old feeling to it, maybe as if it's been caught on a CCTV camera. I used the burn tool to put a slight shadow of the beast on the stairs.
To improve this image, I would change the image to black and white and I'd put a bit more of a grain on it and adjust the contrast and the brightness, slightly.

Here is my final image. I am very happy with this image and how I have edited it to make it more mysterious and scary. The grain on the image is perfect and I can not think of anything else I would alter on the image.
